Windermere Sea Scouts

Scouting in Windermere started back in 1908 when Baden-Powell arrived to present the Troop with a warrent to grant permission for the Scouts to be active. B-P remained a regular visitor to the Windermere Troop over the next thirty years, and during a trip in 1915 on Sea Otter, the Troops craft, commented to the Scoutmaster, Mr JM Sladen, 'I wish I were a Windermere Sea Scout'.

Over one hundred year later Scouting in Windermere is still going strong with around 100 young people regularly meeting up at our central Windermere headquarters to take part in their own everyday adventure.
